School of Agriculture, GIET University, Gunupur, Rayagada was established in the year 2017 with an objective of promoting teaching, research and extension activities in agriculture in the backward districts of South Odisha on the foot hills of Eastern Ghats, with an intake capacity of 120 students. Located on a picturesque landscape, this campus provides all the facilities that a young budding agro-professional aspires to dream. The four-year full time regular B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture programme imparts teaching on Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Plant Physiology, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Statistics, Agricultural Extension Education and Agricultural Biotechnology with a view to cater to the growing demand for agro-professionals in the agrarian state of Odisha with more than 60% population depending on farm sector for their livelihood. Besides, the students’ READY programme, promoting professional skill and knowledge through meaningful hands on experience, exposes the students to industrial environments which cannot be simulated in the Institution and provides an opportunity to pursue the learned skills as their careers. With the establishment of the college, the B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture course programme was successfully implemented with following facilities.
